Chiropractic Research Council Announce AECC University College Student for Research Internship
The Chiropractic Research Council (CRC) announced today the names of the final year chiropractic students who have been successfully selected to participate in this summer’s Programme for Early Researchers in Chiropractic (PERC) research internship.
AECC University College’s final year chiropractic student, Savanna Koebish joins Sam Ogilvie and Perttu Riipinen (Welsh Institute of Chiropractic) as part of the eight-week long PERC initiative, which is affiliated with a well-established research internship run by the Versus Arthritis Centre for Sport, Exercise and Osteoarthritis Research at the University of Nottingham, and a network of world-leading musculoskeletal researchers at UK universities. This programme provides the opportunity for newly graduated chiropractors to work with other new graduate health clinicians, health scientists, and medical students to obtain first-hand experiences of multidisciplinary research environments.
Savanna commented: “I feel very honoured to have been selected to participate in the Chiropractic Research Council's PERC internship over the summer. One aspect I am particularly looking forward to, is meeting the people and institutions involved during our site visits. At this time I would like to extend my gratitude to the friendly faculty and staff of AECC University College, especially those that have been supportive of my interest in research and have been inspirational mentors. I look forward to the research which we will be conducting, and developing my research skills in a professional setting.”
The selection process was rigorous and delivered by the CRC’s Scientific Committee who were impressed by the high calibre and enthusiasm for research demonstrated by all three students.
This is a fantastic opportunity for the research interns, launching their careers as future clinical researchers. It is also a great opportunity for the chiropractic profession to develop research capacity right in the centre of an established, research-rich, interdisciplinary healthcare setting.
Congratulations to Savanna, we’re #AECCProud
