Our Values at AECC University College
Our values set out to guide not just what we do but also ‘how’ we do things. We have lived and breathed these values through the pandemic and are proud to stand by them
Caring
Caring is demonstrated every day by expressing and accepting caring, compassion and respect in our personal and professional relationships. As a health sciences university, we treat people with respect and compassion on a daily basis.
“I’ve been here for 18 years. I love the tight knit community we have at AECC University College, and how everyone cares about each other. That’s why I love coming in to work every day.” – Jane Johnson, AECC University College Receptionist and Administrator
Professional
We take pride in the quality and standards of the work that we do and the relationships we form. We are competent and reliable, working in an ethical way and seek to be excellent in all that we do.
“We’re committed to the use of Information Technology to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of our learning, research and administrative functions. We are always striving to deliver best practice, investing heavily in systems which support our communities on and off campus.” – Steve Goode, Head of IT
Passionate
We passionately believe in the power of education to inspire and transform lives, and in healthcare to enable and support people to reach their full potential, to be happy, live well and thrive.
“I’m really passionate about instilling the tools and confidence in our students to go out there and make the world a better place. Teaching and clinical excellence are my passion, and I love inspiring others.” – Matt Southam, Interim Clinical Imaging Lead
Inclusive
We welcome diversity as an essential component of a healthy society and an enriched educational environment. We strive to create a safe and accessible space where all students and staff feel they belong and can flourish as part of our supportive community. Our patient services are centred on the needs of each individual, delivered in an atmosphere of dignity and respect.
“I love how AECC University College is always caring for and supportive of international students. I’ve come all the way from Hong Kong, and I see that it doesn’t matter where you are from – you always feel like you’re a valued member of the community.” – Hosanna Cheung, Asia Pacific Society President, Christian Union President and Year 1 MChiro (Hons) Student
