What can I expect?
Get ready for a warm welcome from all our staff at AECC University College and prepare to join our health sciences community.
Starting university may seem daunting at first, but we provide academic and social support to guide you through this exciting chapter of your life. The University College is committed to excellence in teaching, providing you with the best learning environments and materials for your chosen course.
A blended-learning approach to teaching
The emphasis this year is premium on presence. We aim to hold smaller practical classes and seminars on-campus so that you have a greater opportunity to learn, question and discuss topics with staff.
At AECC we take a blended-learning approach to teaching with resources to support face-to-face (synchronous) teaching in both practical and in seminar sessions which can also be provided online via Moodle (the universities virtual learning environment).
Online materials may be provided either in advance of sessions to allow students to fully prepare creating the opportunity for further learning and expansion in class or provided post-session to reinforce and support further exploration of the topic. Importantly these materials are available for students 24/7 (asynchronous), allowing you to utilise at a time that best suits you and your learning style.
