AECC invest in AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill

As part of an array of new rehabilitation services, the Clinical and Rehabilitation Services team at AECC UC this month installed an exciting piece of equipment called an AlterG Antigravity Treadmill.

The AlterG inflates from the waist down giving you a weightless feeling as you walk or run with as little as 20% of your bodyweight. It will be used to help people get back to walking or running during their rehabilitation.

AECC UC Sports Rehabilitation Lead Tish Rutherford said:

“We chose this model as it allows patients to print off or download their analysis and data. It’s amazing for patients have access to this, as they have something concrete to work with when making improvements towards their rehabilitation goals.”

Director of Clinical & Rehabilitation Services, Neil Langridge said:

“This is a really special piece of equipment. It adds to the wide range of clinical and rehabilitation services that we have on-site here, and is one of many reasons that our rehabilitation offer is so unique within Dorset and the surrounding areas.”

The Alter-G will be located in the new Integrated Rehabilitation Centre when it opens later this year, and is currently available for our patients to book now!
