AECC University College Announce Conferment of Professorial Title to Dr Stewart Cotterill

We are pleased to confirm the conferment of a professorial title to AECC University College Sport and Performance Psychologist Dr Stewart Cotterill.

The title of ‘Professor of Sport and Performance Psychology’ has been awarded in recognition of Stewart’s international reputation as a researcher and sport and performance psychology consultant; and for his contribution to the profession of sport and exercise psychology.

Stewart has developed an international reputation for research focused on preparation for performance, athlete leadership, and performance psychology. As a consultant Stewart has applied his expertise working with professional, national and international teams and individuals across a broad range of sports including rugby, football, cricket. He is currently chair of the Division of Sport and Exercise psychology with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and inaugural Editor of the Case Studies in Sport and Exercise Psychology journal.

The professorial panel concluded unanimously and after a rigorous appraisal of Stewart’s submission, including the consideration of the assessments provided by four external further national and international professors familiar with the subject area, that Stewart’s achievements fully satisfied the criteria for Full Professorship.

We congratulate Stewart on this real achievement, reflecting a culmination of scholarship and a significant contribution to education, research and professional standing.
