We are located in Bournemouth, Dorset, in between the neighbouring towns of Boscombe, Pokesdown and Southbourne. Our campus and clinics are nestled in beautiful woodlands, only a 10 minute walk to Bournemouth's award-winning Blue Flag beach, with spectacular vistas of the Jurassic coast.

Clinical & Rehabilitation Services

If you're visiting us for healthcare please check where your appointment is taking place.

The Integrated Rehabilitation Centre is located at 28 Parkwood Road, opposite the main AECC building. The Chiropractic Clinic and Open Upright MRI are located behind the AECC University College main building (car park 2). Cavendish House can be found adjacent to our main building (car park 1).

Get directions to AECC University College Bournemouth by bus, train or plane. If you are travelling by car there is free parking available on-site and in the roads surrounding the University College during Open Days. We have designated patient parking, and disabled bays outside our clinics. If you plan to cycle, there's plenty of bike racks and shelters available for you too.

Parking On Campus

As there is limited space, parking on campus is only available to staff and patients.  Unfortunately, parking is unavailable to students Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm.

With the exception of contractors who have been given permits, disabled badge holders, those with who let the University College know of a medical condition, and scheduled visitors who have registered car details with Reception teams.

Parking enforcement charges are clearly sign posted in both of the car parks and if you are visiting and don't have a AECC University College permit, then on arrival to campus, please register your vehicle registration in the visitor book with the clinic or centre you are visiting/attending, or if visiting the University College, then you will need to register your vehicle at the main campus reception.

Note: The parking enforcement only runs 8.30 – 5.30pm Monday to Friday, allowing early morning, evening and weekend visitors a chance to park on campus for study, talks, gym and social visits, weekend seminars and courses. Main campus reception closes at 5pm on week days, so if you have a scheduled visit, you will need to register your car before 5pm.

Alternatives to parking on campus

During busy periods such as Open Days, the Campus Car park can become full quickly, and therefore you may need to park your vehicle in the local area a short walk from the campus. Parking may be available on our neighbouring roads, including: 

  • Browning Avenue 
  • Beechwood Avenue 
  • Woodland Avenue 
  • Keswick Road 

Please allow more time for your journey in case you are not able to park on campus.

Transport Links

Bournemouth is well connected to the rest of the UK and Europe, by rail, air and boat. The train station provides direct connections to the capital and many other destinations.

  • London: 2 hours and 20 minutes by car and just under 2 hours by train 
  • Southampton: Round 40 minutes by car, half an hour by train.
  • Portsmouth & Southsea: Less than 1 hour and a half by train, and 1 hour by car.
  • Exeter: About 2 hours from Exeter to Salisbury and a change at Southampton.

By Bike

AECC University College support cycling with ample bike racks and shelters on campus, along with pumps and bike repair stations.  Bike hire is also available through Beryl Bikes scheme, a bike share scheme covering Bournemouth and Poole. The green bikes are available to hire on the street using the Beryl app.  Marked parking bays can be found across town The closest Beryl bay to AECC campus is on Parkwood Road, junction with Darracott Road.

By Car

Approach from the East and North

Take the A338, follow A338 to Holdenhurst Road, exiting A338 at Littledown Avenue.
Take third exit on Kings Park roundabout to Holdenhurst Road, then take a left on to Ashley Road.
At Christchurch Road roundabout, take the first exit, Ashley Road.
Parkwood Road is on the right, AECC University College campus entrance is on the right.

Approach from the West

Approach Poole on A35, following signs to Bournemouth (A3049).
Take dual carriageway past Tower Park (Dorset Way), at Mountbatten roundabout take third exit along Wallisdown Road.  Stay on A3049, at Boundary roundabout take second exit along A347, turning left at B3063 Charminster Road, second exit Wellington Road, then second exit Holdenhurst Road, then left along St Swithuns Road, to join A35 Christchurch Road.  Take a right to Boscombe Spa Road, along Sea Road, then Percy Road, continuing to Beechwood Avenue, then take left onto Parkwood Road. AECC University College campus is on your left.

By Rail 

Pokesdown railway station is just a five minute walk from campus. Turn right out of the station, walk along Pokesdown, taking a right on to Parkwood Road, campus is on the left.  Arriving from Bournemouth railway station.  This is about a ten minute taxi journey.  

Bournemouth train station provides direct connections to Southampton, London, Birmingham and Manchester via South West Trains and Cross Country Trains.

If you're a student between the ages of 16 - 25, and find yourself travelling via rail frequently to and from Bournemouth, you have the option of purchasing a Railcard, meaning you could save 1/3 off train travel costs. There are also fantastic transport links with major airports and ferry ports in the South of England, with easy connections to the Channel Islands, France, Spain, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Germany and the Netherlands. 

Airports close by include Bournemouth Airport, Southampton Airport, Exeter Airport with express transport links from London Gatwick, London Heathrow and other London Airports.

Ferry services nearby include: Southampton, Lymington, Poole and Portsmouth via services from Condor Ferries and Wightlink Ferry.

By Coach and Bus

The Coach Station is located opposite Bournemouth railway station, accessing major cities in the UK via services from both National Express and Megabus.

Morebus (our local bus service provider) connects Bournemouth and Poole suburbs and various nearby towns. 

Morebus offers routes around Bournemouth and Poole. Bus routes M2, N2 and U3 all stop by Parkwood Road. 

Morebus is also now providing buses for routes 1, 1a, 1b, these also stop nearby Parkwood Road.
