Unmatched expertise and partnerships

Founded in 1965 as the first Chiropractic institution in Europe, we have been leaders in musculoskeletal health and wellbeing for over 55 years. With decades of experience refining our Chiropractic offer, we have innovated and grown to become one of the leading providers of health science subjects today.

AECC University College is at the forefront of engaging with others. Our research is presented at conferences around the world and we foster positive relationships with universities, funding bodies, governments, student associations, businesses and communities both nationally and internationally.

State-of-the-art facilities

You won't find equipment like this in every institution. We have one of only seven upright MRI scanners in the country, digital x-ray equipment, quantitative fluoroscopy and high-specification Samsung and AGFA ultrasound scanners.

In our Human Performance Laboratory, you'll master state-of-the-art testing and analysis equipment used to support professional sportspeople, and you'll learn about rehab, injury resistance and performance enhancement in our Exercise Centre.

Receive on-site clinical training

One reason that students choose AECC is for our on-site clinical training. As part of your degree you'll learn and train in one of Europe's largest placement clinics - right at the heart of our campus. Whether you're working in our high-diagnostic imaging facilities, our internationally-renowned chiropractic clinic, or the fully equipped Exercise and Sport Performance Centre, we'll help you get work-ready in a real-world clinical environment. Our clinic receives thousands of patients a year giving you a one-stop shop of patient care from diagnosis and treatment to rehabilitation.

More than just study

There’s always something to keep you busy when you're not studying, whether it’s catching up with friends in our on-campus gym or bar, or getting involved in our clubs and societies. With an active Students’ Union there’s loads you can do to make the most of your university experience. We know health and well-being is important, so you'll also get free treatment in the training clinic. And best of all, you'll be surrounded by like-minded individuals who all care about the same things you do.

Location

We are lucky enough to live beside seven miles of golden sands, and Bournemouth’s unique micro-climate means we get plenty of sunshine hours too. From our campus on Parkwood Road, the beach is only 10 minutes-walk away. Living in Bournemouth means not only do you have the benefit of the coastline, but there are great routes into London (approximately two hours by train) and the ability to explore wider Dorset and the historic Jurassic Coast.
