What is Sport Psychology?

Have you ever wondered what a sport psychologist does, how to become a sport psychologist, or what even is sport psychology!?

Sport psychologists impact athletes’ performance, participation and wellbeing through psychology. You can make a difference to people’s lives as a sport psychologist by helping them to become more active, healthier and happier.

If you’re interested in a career as a psychologist specialising in sport and performance, or physical activity and exercise, then a degree in psychology might be for you. Develop a strong scientific understanding of the mind, brain, behaviour, experience and the complex interactions between these elements through innovative teaching and completing independent research.

All our psychology courses provide a specialist, defined route into the world of applied psychology, whilst offering you practical experience in our on-site clinics. You will be taught a core curriculum that covers biological psychology, cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, individual differences, social psychology, conceptual and historical issues, and research methods.

Mixture of OT, Chiro and Physio students with a teacher in the AECC IRC Building

This year, Chiropractic Awareness Week (CAW), 22nd-28th April, is all about raising awareness and speaking up for the chiropractic profession, to build understanding and recognition about the value and expertise that chiropractors bring to their local communities.  This year’s theme is ‘Making Chiropractic Integral: Building connections and nurturing a community with the people and places that matter to you.’

AECC University College Staff vs. Students Sports Day

On Wednesday 24th April, we held our first AECC University College ‘Staff vs. Students Sports Day’! It took place on Boscombe Beach, and what a great afternoon it was! Staff and students took part in sporting games, including tug of war, sprinting, the three-legged race, and dodgeball.
