Parkwood and Garnet Campus
Our university campus is located on Parkwood Road, in Boscombe and is comprised of Parkwood Campus to the west and Garnet Campus to the east. Nestled in beautiful bluebell woodlands, we are just a 10-minute stroll from 7 miles of award-winning sandy beaches and picturesque sea views.
Our campus is split into Parkwood Campus and Garnet Campus, located just across the road from each other. Our small but well-equipped site reflects our specialist institutional needs and tight knit community feel. While on campus you really feel like you are part of a specialist community of likeminded individuals. Everyone knows everyone and you will often see familiar faces with students, staff and academics mingling together.
Our university campus is super easy to get around. You can walk between locations, or into neighbouring Southbourne and Boscombe and with the beach down the road it’s no wonder that student’s here love to get out and explore the local area when they’re not studying.
Our campus is a clear reflection of our personality, combining innovation and history. The main University College building dates back to 1888.

Parkwood Campus
Parkwood Campus is comprised of our main building, Chiropractic Clinic, Cavendish House, and the student Gym. Surrounded by beautiful wooded areas you will also find outdoor spaces to enjoy while on campus.
Main Building
This stunning grade II listed building (once a convent school in the early twentieth Century) is home to our lecture theatres, seminar rooms, student learning and some of our lifestyle facilities. To help navigate the main building is shaped like the letter ‘E’ with the library at the south and the campus café at the north. Check it out on the campus map and if you get lost there’s always someone around to point you in the right direction!
Library
Our beautiful library is situated in what was once the chapel to the convent. Complete with original stained-glass windows and sky-high ceilings, this room has since been adapted into a high-tech learning facility complete with over 10,000 books, 14,000+ online journals, medical databases, anatomical and other learning and academic software.

Chiropractic Clinic
Situated just behind the main building, across from the quad, is our chiropractic clinic. One of the largest placement clinics in Europe, we have 34 treatment rooms and a host of state-of-the-art equipment where we diagnose and treat patients. Here our fourth-year students will gain clinical experience diagnosing and treating patients, under the supervision of clinical chiropractic tutors.
Cavendish House
Cavendish House is home to our School or Radiology. Here you will find students of Radiology and Medical Ultrasound, either studying, working and or researching in our ultrasound suites, mock ward, digital x-ray clinic. We have some really impressive equipment here including the VERT (virtual environment of a radiotherapy treatment simulator) and Samsung and AGFA Clinical rooms to name a few.
Clinical skill labs for both our Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation students also take place here and are located across the various technique rooms. A breadth of mobility aid equipment and therapy apparatus is on hand for practical patient handling classes.
On the top floor of Cavendish House, you will also find Student Services.

Sports Gym
Our recently refurbished student gym is located just next to cavendish house and contains some really top of the line equipment. Our student’s union worked really hard to upgrade the facilities here, and now we have a truly state-of-the-art gym suitable for even the most competitive athletes (of which we have a few!) Here you can expect to see students keeping fit, training for events or together as part of one of our many sports clubs.
Outside areas
In the grounds around Parkwood Campus you will find many outdoor spaces to enjoy such as our Quad (often the site for events and entertainment) with outdoor seating, more quiet grassy areas with additional picnic benches, and even outdoor gym equipment where you can burn off some steam. There are also multiple bike storage locations for cyclists.
Garnet Campus
On the opposite side to Parkwood Road you will find Garnet Campus. A more recent addition to the AECC University College campus, Garnet Campus is now largely home to our School of Rehabilitation, Sport and Psychology. Not only does this site contain learning equipment and facilities for students of Rehabilitation, Sport and Psychology, soon it will house our exciting new Integrated Rehabilitation Centre.
Main Building
The main building at Garnet Campus contains teaching environments such as seminar rooms, as well as our Sports Performance Centre and Human Performance Laboratory and Rehabilitation Hub. These spaces provide a range of sport science, performance and rehabilitation testing, analysis and intervention services to external clients and user groups. Students will use the equipment here as part of their research and learning.
Integrated Rehabilitation Centre
Recently developments at Garnet Campus include the build of the Integrated Rehabilitation Centre, or IRC. The IRC is a clinical facility that will provide sport and exercise rehabilitation services to the local community. Here students as well as professional athletes will come to use the facilities and gain industry leading professional advice and treatment. The IRC will also be a place to offer treatment and support to those suffering from more disabling mechanical ailments. The IRC is set for completion September 2022, meaning that our 2022 cohort of students will be the first to use these facilities.
