Course Details
Discover how to effectively spot common biomechanical issues with athletes and how to manage, and correct, common running technique mistakes. Learn how to make smart, evidence-based training recommendations to your patients and immediately reduce their injury rate. How to use the “Joint-by-Joint” approach to assess and treat your patients more effectively. Learn a variety of “hands on” manual medicine techniques to manage common lower extremity injuries in your patients. I will walk you through all of the common injuries in the lower extremity and pelvis, and show you exactly how to treat them. Myofascial techniques, Graston, Kinesiotaping, mobility drills, and stability/strengthening exercises for all of those conditions. Low-tech, simple techniques you can start using immediately on your patients.

Dr. Jonathan Mulholland earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Ithaca College in 1996, and his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Northwestern Health Sciences University in 2000. In addition to running his own private chiropractic practices, Dr. Mulholland has also acted as the Chiropractic Consultant for the United States Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, NY, successfully treating dozens of Olympic athletes. He has traveled extensively as one of the team chiropractors for the US Bobsled & Skeleton Teams and as the Sports Medicine & Performance Enhancement consultant for the New Zealand Cycling Teams. He has worked multiple World Championship events in a variety of sports, and has treated athletes from dozens of different countries. He also worked the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London, where he helped the New Zealand cyclists obtain two Olympic Medals. Additionally, he has a post-graduate certification as a Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner (CCSP) and is also a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Currently living in Plattsburgh, NY with his wife and two children, he is a sports chiropractor and strength coach who has helped athletes of all levels with injury recovery and performance enhancement.

This year, Chiropractic Awareness Week (CAW), 22nd-28th April, is all about raising awareness and speaking up for the chiropractic profession, to build understanding and recognition about the value and expertise that chiropractors bring to their local communities. On Wednesday 24th April, we held our first AECC University College ‘Staff vs. Students Sports Day’! It took place on Boscombe Beach, and what a great afternoon it was! Staff and students took part in sporting games, including tug of war, sprinting, the three-legged race, and dodgeball.
On Thursday 23rd May 2024, AECC University College will be inviting students, staff, alumni and members of the public to attend an evening lecture by Professor Richard Brown.
