Biography

Wenona Dancy transitioned from Graduate Teaching Assistant to Lecturer of Chiropractic after graduating from AECC University College. Last academic year she led two units within MChiro Gateway and supporting Year 2 cohorts in practical sessions. For the academic year of 2023/2024, Wenona is Year 1 Lead and Unit Lead within Year 1. Additionally, Academic lead for: Admissions; Offer Holder Days; Student Peer Assisted Learning scheme, curriculum EDI, and supporting placement students in outreach opportunities. Wenona is also currently designing an ethics application for research.

From the onset of returning to education, becoming involved in teaching and research has always been a long-term goal for Wenona. The opportunity arose earlier than anticipated.

Areas of Interest

Wenona has worked in various Healthcare settings, including as a Carer for a family member who developed severe adolescent idiopathic scoliosis and is a wheelchair user.

A focus of equality, diversity and inclusivity is a particular interest to Wenona, having experienced first-hand the impact exclusivity presents. She plans to continue developing her teaching skills, to ensure students are aware of the importance of supporting all individuals with fairness and equality.
