Make your mark by maximising sports performance.

Apply contemporary sport science theory and innovative research, whilst following a specific and scientific sport-focused course that covers the disciplines of sport psychology, sport physiology, sport biomechanics, motor learning, and research methods. You will get to grips with critically evaluating and engaging with the latest sports research related to performance and use this knowledge to develop an evidence-based approach to your practice. Use your new skills to actively initiate and conduct scientific projects linked to individuals, teams, and agencies from across the wide spectrum of the sports performance world.

Course details

Combine theory and practical from the outset, with integrated teaching and assessments that support your learning outcomes and skill development. All units will develop an independent learning culture and provide you with a learning experience to push you, drive you to your goals, all whilst supported by our fantastic academic team and professional services staff.

You will develop critical thinking and possess the knowledge, understanding and skills to address current issues within the sport science domains, and therefore will be well equipped to consider future matters and problems.

How do I apply for 2020 entry?

If you want to start this course in 2020, you will need to apply via UCAS. Please use institution code A65 and the course code C606.

Essential for entry

Please note that applicants must hold 5 GCSEs A*-C including Maths and English, or equivalent (reformed GCSEs grade 4 or above) to be considered for the programme.

A-levels

BBB or above to include one of; Biology/Human Biology/Physical Education. General Studies will not be considered.

BTEC Extended Diploma

Distinction Merit Merit or above in a relevant Extended Diploma for example; Sports Science, Sports Coaching and Fitness, Applied Science.

Access to HE Diploma

A total of 120 UCAS points in a relevant Access to HE Diploma for example; Sports Science.

International Baccalaureate

Overall grade of 32 points or higher to include either Biology or Physical Education at Higher Level.

Scottish Highers/Advanced Highers

BBBBB or above in 5 Higher/Advanced Higher subjects to include either Biology or Human Biology.

Irish Leaving Certificate

H3,H3,H3,H3,H3 from 5 subjects at Higher Level to include either Biology or Human Biology
