My Clearing Story
Hi, I’m Ano! As I write this I’m in my third year at AECC University College. I got onto the Master of Chiropractic - MChiro (Hons) course through Clearing. Clearing provided me with an opportunity to explore new and different possibilities and to find the right course and university for me. Read below for my journey and thoughts on Clearing.
Why did I choose to study at AECC University College?
Initially I wanted to do a health or sports related course. I came across chiropractic while I was looking at different options during UCAS Clearing. After doing some research I found that the Master of Chiropractic - MChiro (Hons) course at AECC University College had some of the elements that I was looking for in a course, such as practical and theoretical components, and that really made me want to find out more. After some initial reading, I rang the Clearing phone number and spoke to the Admissions team. They were really helpful, made sure to give me all the relevant information, and provided me with clarity as to what the course is about, what I was to expect if I enrolled, and what the next steps would be to secure my place.
Was it hard applying through Clearing?
Overall, my Clearing experience was really good for me because it was nice and easy, which meant that I was less stressed about securing a place at university. The Admissions team at AECC University College were really helpful in all aspects – they answered all my questions and made sure that I did everything I needed to do to secure my place on the course.
I’m really happy that I went through Clearing and as a result of that discovered chiropractic, something I hadn’t really thought about before.
How about the location and the campus?
Living in Bournemouth has been a big and positive change for me. It’s really nice that our campus is just a few minutes away from the beach. In my free time or between lectures and seminars I love to go down there for a walk, or I take my long-board and just relax by the sea.
It’s also great that AECC University College has everything you might need, such as a gym, the clinics and centres, the refectory, the amazing library and learning spaces - it's all in one place - right on campus. That will save you time travelling around and you become part of a really supportive and friendly community.
Was it the right decision?
I feel like this is the best decision I could have made. I’ve settled in at AECC University College and I really enjoy the course and the experience so far.
My favourite part about the Master of Chiropractic - MChiro (Hons) course is the practical aspect of it, because it is very hands-on and enables me to develop my skills. The tutors are always approachable and helpful, and they want to make sure we all perform to the best of our abilities, and that we succeed.
What advice would you give to someone considering Clearing?
