2 Day Introductory Seminar
AECC University College

Course details

Our aim is to educate and train Sexual and Reproductive Health Clinical and EPAU staff in the safe and competent use of diagnostic ultrasound imaging. You’ll have the chance to be trained in the safe and accurate acquisition of ultrasound images in the examination of basic gynaecology and early pregnancy problems. A team of experts will help you understand these images together with the medical history of the patient to take you a step further in making accurate decisions in patient management.

Joining the pregnancy ultrasound course sees your learning split into two stages; a two-day seminar and the option of attending six one-day masterclasses at designated specialist centres.

Stage One

This required introduction to pregnancy ultrasound features two days of lectures, demonstrations, and practical workshops using models and patients. Covering ultrasound physics, equipment controls, quality assurance, and safety aspects of ultrasound. See the full timetable in the accordions below.

Stage 2

Join our experts in engaging masterclasses. Pick the sessions that are right for you or come along to all that’s on offer to receive essential skills and knowledge in obstetric ultrasound. Spaces are limited for these masterclasses, allowing you more time with the experts and more hands on time with the patients. If you already have a supervised clinical placement where you work, then there’s no need to sign up for these masterclasses. To find out more about our masterclasses and assessment day, speak with the School of Medical Ultrasound team by sending them a message or calling 01202 436505.
