You can choose to do this MSK Ultrasound course from two different locations, either on 19th & 20th June 2019 at AECC University College Bournemouth or on 04th & 05th July 2019 at St Andrews University

Join the team in learning all about the safe use of ultrasound in the diagnosis of musculoskeletal conditions. Expect teachings from a team of medical experts with vast experience in diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound, with available tutorials, masterclasses, and hands-on sessions. An informative and practical course in MSK ultrasound as a stand alone or foundation to further study.

In association with the British Association of Sport and Exercise Medicine. This musculoskeletal ultrasound course is also endorsed by the European Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (EFSUMB), and approved by the College of Sports and Exercise Physicians (ECOSEP).

Our aim is to educate musculoskeletal practitioners in the safe and competent use of diagnostic ultrasound imaging. You’ll have the chance to be trained in the acquisition of ultrasound images in relation to musculoskeletal conditions. Our team of experts from a variety of backgrounds (radiology, physiotherapy and medicine) will help you understand these images together with the medical history from your point of view.  This will facilitate the accurate diagnosis of patient conditions and appropriate management.

Stage One

This required introduction to MSK ultrasound contains a full two intense days of lectures, demonstrations, and practical workshops featuring simulators, models and real patients. Covering ultrasound physics, equipment controls, quality assurance, and the ever important safety aspects.

Stage Two

In addition to your hands on masterclasses using state of the art Samsung ultrasound machines (provided by MIS Healthcare), our experts will guide you through pro-section anatomy and 3D modelling.

With the completion of your log book and written case studies and one assignment, you will be able to progress to a final assessment of competency (Stage 3).

University of St Andrews - 4th & 5th July 2019

Stage Two  

Within your own clinical environment you will need to undertake 150 examinations (upper & lower limb, 75% supervised, 25% minimal supervision) recorded in your log book using a mentor approved by the institution.

With the completion of your log book and written case studies and one assignment, you will be able to progress to a final assessment of competency (Stage 3).

Stage Three

Competency assessment £290 - Under exam conditions you will be assessed scanning 6 patients covering all aspects of the course material.

1st degree in a Health Science.


Course Fees

Talk to the ultrasound course team about payment for individual masterclasses and assessment fees. 

The number of places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.

Stage 1 - Introductory Seminar : £1010

Stage 1 and 2 - Introductory Seminar and all 6 tutorials and masterclasses - £3200 (a saving of £450) - Available to AECC University College Bournemouth Course only

Stage 2 - Masterclasses booked individually £440 - Available to AECC University College Bournemouth Course only

Stage 3 - In both cases there’ll be a £290 fee for the Assessment once your log book is complete.

 

Please note there will be a £25 charge to re issue any duplicate certificates.

Terms and Conditions

The AECC University College School of Medical Ultrasound reserve the right to make alterations to fees, arrangements and dates for teaching and learning sessions, including the decision to run all or parts of the course in the light of demand. In the event that the course is cancelled or re-scheduled by the course organiser, a full refund of fees will be given, but the University College takes no responsibility for travel or accommodation expenses incurred by the delegate. 

If for any reason you are unable to attend the seminar please be aware that fees will be refunded, less a £10 administration charge, for all cancellations received at least 30 days before the event. Cancellations received after the 30 day period but 7 days prior to the seminar date will receive a 50% refund less the £10 administration charge. No refunds can be given after this time.
