In association with the British Association of Sport and Exercise Medicine. This musculoskeletal ultrasound course is also endorsed by the European Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (EFSUMB), and approved by the College of Sports and Exercise Physicians (ECOSEP).

Warren Foster is currently Head of AECC University College's School of Radiology, a member of the Senior Management Group and program Lead for the MSc Ultrasound courses. With more than 15 years of Ultrasound experience across numerous specialities within the NHS, he is ideally placed to support your studies.
Course details

Our aim is to educate musculoskeletal practitioners in the safe and competent use of diagnostic ultrasound imaging. You’ll have the chance to be trained in the acquisition of ultrasound images in relation to musculoskeletal conditions. Our team of experts from a variety of backgrounds (radiology, physiotherapy and medicine) will help you understand these images together with the medical history from your point of view. This will facilitate the accurate diagnosis of patient conditions and appropriate management.
Stage One
This required introduction to MSK ultrasound contains a full two intense days of lectures, demonstrations, and practical workshops featuring simulators, models and real patients. Covering ultrasound physics, equipment controls, quality assurance, and the ever important safety aspects.

Stage Two
In addition to your hands on masterclasses using state of the art Samsung ultrasound machines (provided by MIS Healthcare), our experts will guide you through pro-section anatomy and 3D modelling.
With the completion of your log book and written case studies and one assignment, you will be able to progress to a final assessment of competency (Stage 3).

Competency assessment £290 - Under exam conditions you will be assessed scanning 6 patients covering all aspects of the course material.

- Quality Assurance
- Safety of ultrasound
- Sectional and ultrasound anatomy of the musculoskeletal system
- Focus on the lower limb: ultrasound of the foot, ankle, and knee

Entry Requirements
1st degree in a Health Science.
Course Fees
Talk to the ultrasound course team about payment for individual masterclasses and assessment fees.
The number of places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.
Stage 1 - Introductory Seminar : £1010
Stage 1 and 2 - Introductory Seminar and all 6 tutorials and masterclasses - £3200 (a saving of £450)
Stage 2 - Masterclasses booked individually £440
Stage 3 - In both cases there’ll be a £290 fee for the Assessment once your log book is complete.
Please note if you are not a UK resident then the full course fee will need to be paid upon registration.
There will be a £25 charge to re issue any duplicate certificates.
