Teaching provided at the highest level by full time NHS sonographers and radiologists.  Our fully equipped clinical skills centre boasts simulators (provided by scan trainer) together with state of the art Samsung medical systems (provide by MIS Healthcare) to give you the best start to your ultrasound training.  Expert lectures proceed hands on practical training in a ratio not exceeding 2:1. 

As a stand alone course or complete a period of mentorship and log book before taking your final competency assessment for a formal recognition of completion.

Warren Foster is currently Head of AECC University College's School of Medical Ultrasound, a member of the Senior Management Group and program Lead for the MSc Ultrasound courses. With more than 15 years of Ultrasound experience across numerous specialities within the NHS, he is ideally placed to support your studies.


Course details

We’re here to introduce GPs to the role of ultrasound in a community setting. You’ll have the chance to be trained in the safe and accurate acquisition of ultrasound images by a team of experts. Helping you understand the relationship between ultrasound images and patient history, taking you a step further in making accurate decisions in patient management.

Our ultrasound course for doctors will give you an introduction to ultrasound anatomy and common pathology, focusing on the upper and lower abdomen of men and women. You’ll also see an introduction to Doppler, Musculoskeletal, and Superficial structures, and have the support of hospital sonographers during all practical workshops.

A two day programme of lectures, demonstrations, and guided hands-on experience with real patients, covering ultrasound physics, equipment controls, quality assurance, and the ever important safety aspects. Course Fees

Enrol on this ultrasound course for doctors with a single payment of £795, covering the full two days.

The number of places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.

An additional charge for final assessment applies £290

 

Please note there will be a £25 charge to re issue any duplicate certificates

Terms and Conditions

The AECC University College School of Medical Ultrasound reserve the right to make alterations to fees, arrangements and dates for teaching and learning sessions, including the decision to run all or parts of the course in the light of demand. In the event that the course is cancelled or re-scheduled by the course organiser, a full refund of fees will be given, but the University College takes no responsibility for travel or accommodation expenses incurred by the delegate. 

 

If for any reason you are unable to attend the seminar please be aware that fees will be refunded, less a £10 administration charge, for all cancellations received at least 30 days before the event. Cancellations received after the 30 day period but 7 days prior to the seminar date will receive a 50% refund less the £10 administration charge. No refunds can be given after this time.
