Success for women's AECC handball team

Last weekend the AECC Handball club travelled to Dagenham, London, for the final play off in the UK student Handball Championship.

The women’s team had a rough start, losing their 7th player in the first match to a knee injury. With no subs, the girls had to continue the tournament with one player less than the other teams. Despite their disadvantage, the girls defeated every team they met, leading them all the way to the final against Nottingham. The final was a tough game where the girls gave it their all winning not only the appreciation of the crowd, but also the match!  The final score was 7-6 to AECC.

The team were undefeated throughout both the qualifying round and the final stage of the championship. As a result of winning the UK championship, our (Norwegian) AECC girls will represent the UK in the European play-offs in the Netherlands during July-August 2014.

Congratulations girls!
