AECC University College Support Local Rugby and Sporting Community
We are proud to announce that we will be Match Day Sponsors for our partners Bournemouth Rugby Club’s upcoming match against Cramborne on Saturday 26 January 2019.
As Bournemouth Rugby’s Official Sport Science and Performance Partners, we have recently assisted the Bournemouth Lion’s first XV team in preparation for what was one of their toughest away matches they faced in 2018. The team enlisted the expertise of our Head of School of Psychology, Sport and Physical Activity, Professor Stewart Cotterill, on the back of the teams’ only loss against Maidenhead.
Lions Director of Rugby, Will Croker, commented: "We have been working with Professor Cotterill to try and pick up the lessons we have learned after our loss against Maidenhead, and to try and make sure the guys are best prepared for it as possible. We had to be ready for the next game against Barnstaple; for them getting on top of our mistakes if we made any, and knowing how to deal with those mistakes and how we are able to block that out."
We also have been supporting multiple teams within the club, contributing to the leadership development of the under 15s, through to their senior team. Professor Cotterill also heads up the Mental Performance and Wellbeing Service at the club, providing performance psychology support and advice. This function enables a mentally healthy environment across the club, and supports individual players where necessary.
The sponsoring of a match allows us as a specialist health science institution to educate and inspire others to lead healthier lifestyles, and to highlight the part our clinical services play in the community. Our clinical services, including our Chiropractic Clinic; Ultrasound Clinic; Exercise Centre; Open Upright MRI; and Sport Performance Centre provide tailored healthcare to our patients’ needs.
No matter if you’re an elite rugby player, a weekend warrior, or simply someone who wishes to improve their health and wellbeing goals, our services offer excellence in clinical care and exercise technologies.
