AECC University College Raise Sporting Aspirations through Partnership with Bournemouth Collegiate School

AECC University College will be providing sport science testing and support through our Sport Performance Centre facility to Bournemouth Collegiate School (BCS) Sport Academy.

Students at BCS will gain specialist fitness, performance, movement, physical and psychological support delivered by the University College’s specialist expertise, propelling student athletes to the next level and assisting them to reach their potential.

AECC University College’s Head of School for Psychology, Sport and Physical Activity commented: “We are excited to develop this fantastic partnership with BCS, and we look forward to applying our expertise to help the talented student athletes to continue to grow and excel in their sport.”

All BCS student athletes will visit AECC University College’s Parkwood Campus in Boscbome for initial fitness and movement screening in September 2019.

The Sport Performance Centre provides range of sport science, performance and rehabilitation testing, analysis and intervention services to external clients and user groups. Staff in the Sport Performance Centre have extensive experience working across a broad range of sports and at different levels of expertise. Staff have also worked with performers and teams across a comprehensive range of sport and performance settings including: athletics, badminton, cricket, cycling, football, golf, lacrosse, martial arts, rugby, sailing, squash, tennis, triathlon, volleyball, and ultra-distance running.

Richard Harrison-Poole, Director of School and Academy Sport added: "BCS is delighted to be working with AECC, this is a partnership that will add huge depth to our sporting academies with their bio-mechanical screening of the athletes. Their experienced practitioners will guide and support our pupils. In addition to this the university will be working with the whole school academic programme and provide scholar talks and guest lecturers, I look forward to seeing this partnership develop over the coming year and beyond”.
