Alter-G

Book AlterG at AECC UC. The AlterG is an antigravity treadmill that is used to help people get back to walking or running during their rehabilitation.

What is an Alter G?

The AlterG is an antigravity treadmill that is used to help people get back to walking or running during their rehabilitation.

The Alter G treadmill inflates from the waist down giving you a weightless feeling as you walk or run with as little as 20% of your bodyweight.

By reducing your bodyweight, you are able to comfortably walk or run where you may have not been able to previously.

The AlterG can be used by anyone from top level athletes who are recovering from injuries, to those looking to lose weight, to geriatric, paediatric, neurological patients and everyone in between.

ViaX model

The Alter G we have at AECC is a ViaX model.

The Via X model is unique as it comes complete with Live Video Monitoring, StrideSmart Gait Analytics & a faster top speed, perfect for both rehab and performance!

These added features are particularly useful as it allows us to offer real data for users to help improve and recover. We can export your training data and send digitally, or print off, and we’ll also use this data to keep you on track and monitor your rehabilitation progress.

Testimonials

Nicole on the Alter G with support from her neurological physiotherapist

The AlterG has really helped me with control and helping me to believe that walking is achievable in the future. It makes me feel more upright; like I’m getting a really good stretch with every step. My hips and ankles feel like they’re getting a good workout, and it’s difficult to get that otherwise.

What I’ve learned from my Physiotherapist is to never give up. Getting the right help and seeing someone that you like and trust makes all the difference. My physio is so good that I want to please her and improve for her. She understands what I’m doing and we’re working on my goals together.
