Dr Michelle Holmes

Dr. Michelle Holmes is a Senior Lecturer in Research Methods at AECC University College and Professional Development Framework Lead.

Biography

Michelle is a health services researcher and has experience of working with various healthcare professionals and patient groups. At AECC University College she lectures in Research Methods and is the Postgraduate Framework Lead for the School of Chiropractic. Along with teaching, Michelle is also the convenor for the Centre of Clinical and Applied Service Provision Research (CASPR) responsible for steering and reporting on research activity on patient outcomes and delivery of health services. In 2021 Michelle completed her PhD at the University of Southampton, examining patient-reported outcomes as active components of treatment for low back pain.

Current Activity

Michelle currently leads the teaching of research methods to both undergraduate and postgraduate students in the School of Chiropractic and the School of Radiology, as well as supervising student projects and overseeing the delivery of Postgraduate courses in the School of Chiropractic.
At this present time, Michelle has several ongoing research projects, including practice-based networks within chiropractic, patient experience and patient safety and treatment decisions for musculoskeletal decisions. Michelle is also involved in the Research Excellence Framework as the REF administrator for AECC University College.
