BSc (Hons) - Exercise Centre Manager

Chris is currently the manager of the Rehabilitation and Exercise Centre at the AECC University College, a member of the clinical governance and clinic advisory committees. He is responsible for the treatment and oversight of exercise prescription for patients within the Exercise Centre.

Biography

Chris Medcalf graduated from Bournemouth University in 2015 with a degree in Exercise Science Health and rehabilitation. Chris has worked to achieve further qualifications in strength and conditioning and performance enhancement in athletes as well as research surrounding exercise therapies.  He also worked as part of a team alongside the Red Bull F1 pit crew to aid in performance enhancement and injury prevention. He is continuing in this vein with a view to honing and refining his skills.

Current Activity

Chris is currently the manager of the Rehabilitation and Exercise Centre at the AECC University College, a member of the clinical governance and clinic advisory committees.  He is responsible for the treatment and oversight of exercise prescription for patients within the Exercise Centre. Chris also runs the daily everyday fitness classes held within the Centre. Management of the Centre also entails the controlling of the Sports Performance Centre. This involves carrying out musculoskeletal performance tests on patients, patient athletes and the AFC Bournemouth Football team.

Areas of Interest

Musculoskeletal performance enhancement, gait analysis, musculoskeletal shoulder therapies, exercise prescription.

Qualifications

  • BSc (Hons) Exercise Science, Health and Rehabilitation.
