Accommodation

We have a number of resources to advise you on accommodation, including landlord and student guides, and our SU Administrator is on hand to give you advice on all aspects of student letting. Unfortunately we do not have a Halls of Residence, but nearby accommodation is plentiful and we have networks, forums and social groups to help you find your ideal accommodation.

Lockers

We have lockers for hire in the college, which come in very handy as you accumulate your course materials! There are 336 available and they are issued on a first come first served basis. Lockers cost £10, £5 of which is refundable when you enter your clinic year.

NUS Cards

Democracy Card

Once you enrol on the course, you will automatically become a member of NUS (National Union of Students), which our Student Union affiliates to. You will also receive your free NUS democracy card which can be renewed annually from the Student Union office. The NUS democracy cards will be issued at the start of the academic year but you can collect your card from the Student Union at any time. Go onto www.nusonline.co.uk for more info.

NUS Extra

NUS Extra is the definitive student discount card with a range of exclusive discounts, offers and competitions designed to make student life more exciting, memorable and rewarding.

The NUS Extra doubles as an international student identity card, so you can also use it to get special offers and discounts when you're travelling abroad in over 100 countries. Not bad for just a tenner!

ISIC

These are similar to NUS Cards in that they provide student identification, but these entitle you to discounts on flights, international rail fares and in international stores. Click on www.ISICcard.com to see available discounts, travel advice and much much more!

Clothing

AECC branded clothing is available in two different designs. Hoodies and t-shirts can be printed with a modern twist of the logo or embroidered in the traditional university style. Samples are on display in the SU office and orders are taken each term.

Donations & Sponsorships

The Students' Union can provide financial support towards worthy causes (especially promoting chiropractic). If you wish to get sponsorship or receive a donation, we require a written letter stating the reasons why, the amount requested, what it will be used for etc. This will then be discussed at the next meeting.

General Help & Advice

We can provide you with help and advice on any aspect of student life, via our student union members, NUS qualified representatives (can be contacted via telephone or online) and our own qualified counsellors. We also have leaflets on hand on subjects ranging from personal health to local attractions.

If you just need someone to talk to, our door is always open - Room 117 in Cavendish House. We also provide student representation at disciplinary hearings. Remember, we represent the student body. If there is anything that you are not happy with, come and speak to us.
