The AECC Student Union
What is the Student Union?
A body set up to represent students throughout all aspects of college life – social, academic and professional.
Where is the SU?
We are situated on the ground floor, opposite Toggler’s Arms (the college Bar). The SU Administrator works in the office 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
How and when elections taken place
Student Union Executive positions are voted for every year during Spring Term. Candidates need to be proposed and have a second proposal by other students. A student can occupy the same position on the SU for a maximum of 2 years.
What are the responsibilities of the SU Officers?
Officers are required to devote time, effort and energy to their roles each of which have differing responsibilities. All officers are expected to get involved in most of the Student Union activities and be pro-active whilst in position.
Why be involved?
Being involved with the SU gets you involved with college life, develops interpersonal skills and looks great on your CV. There are also great perks for your hard work such as free membership to the gym and free entry to all Student Union events!
