Life Lately at AECC University College
We are really looking forward to welcoming new students to AECC University College in September, as they take the first step in their careers in health care. Until then, we wanted to share an insight into life at AECC University College over the last few months.
A huge well done to all of our students who have undertaken exams over the last few weeks – and to the staff who have worked hard to make sure exams taken remotely took place smoothly.
A brilliant example of this was that of our 116 Final Year Chiropractic students, who completed their Clinical Reasoning qualifying exam remotely at the end of May.
22 members of staff undertook virtual mini clinical scenarios for our students across five different time zones. Due to the fantastic international nature of our student community, staff Skyped and Zoomed their way around the world. They also tested every single session in advance – to be absolutely sure that exams would run smoothly in this way.
This dedication demonstrates the ways in which all staff at AEC University College have been going above and beyond to ensure that students receive the very best teaching during the COVID-19 outbreak.
Student-Led Teaching Awards
We recently announced the winners of this year’s Student-Led Teaching Awards at AECC University College.
These awards are held each year and give students the opportunity to recognise the exceptional contributions made by both teaching and professional services staff at the University College.
The awards highlight good practice in teaching and help create a positive experience for both staff and students. Nominations and votes for these awards were cast remotely, with students voting online for their winners.

Students’ Union Supports Students During COVID-19
We wanted to highlight the ways in which the Students’ Union (SU) at AECC has been supporting students recently during the pandemic. This has included assisting those who have stayed local with shopping and medication deliveries and continuing to respond to student queries.
The SU team also received requests from students asking to borrow gym equipment during the pandemic. In response to this, the team organised a ‘socially distanced giveaway’ of equipment that was in storage at the University College and no longer needed – much to the delight of students.
The SU team has also been running a daily quiz on Instagram at 5pm. You can follow @aeccsu to join in the fun!
