The Anglo-European College of Chiropractic (AECC) is pleased to announce that Karen Pichlmann has been appointed as its new Academic Registrar. Karen took up her new role on the 25th July and replaces Alan Tyler who retired after 36 years with the college.
Karen joins the AECC from Bournemouth University (BU) where she held the role of Head of Admissions. She was responsible for the delivery of a vision and strategy for all aspects of BU admissions, including widening participation. She has worked in higher education for over 16 years, which involved ten years in the Australian higher education sector.
The AECC has recently been awarded Taught Degree Awarding Powers, allowing the ability to validate, deliver and award its own degrees in chiropractic and other subject areas.
Karen commented: "The role of Academic Registrar at the AECC builds on my experience in university admissions and will extend my knowledge in other areas of academic administration. I am passionate about the student experience and excited to be a key part of that at the AECC. Being part of the organisation as it grows, develops and becomes a university college is also a great opportunity from both a professional and personal perspective."
