We are the first to shout about how lucky we are to be in such a beautiful location. Not only do we have award-winning beaches just down the road, but now we are also delighted to be able to say that Bournemouth has come top in the South West for Green Flag Awards; meaning we have the best parks and green spaces in the area.
The Green Flag is a national award, it is run by the charity Keep Britain Tidy. Flags are awarded to areas that meet high environmental standards and are safe and well managed.
We have been awarded a number of Green Flags for our public parks and gardens. Bournemouth is in the UK's top ten.
Here are our green flag locations (many of which are close to the college, perfect for time out between lectures):
- Alum chine and Argyll gardens
- Boscombe chine gardens
- Fisherman's walk
- Hengistbury Head
- Kinson common
- Lower, Central and Upper gardens
- Moore avenue
- Pelhams park
- Queen's park
- Redhill park and common
- Seafield gardens
- Slades farm
- Springbourne gardens
- Stour valley
- Winton recreation ground
