AECC Library
The Vilhelm Krause Library is on the ground floor of the main college building occupying the former chapel, with the spectacular stained glass windows still a feature. It is arranged over two floors with study areas for ninety readers and a separate computer room.
The Library houses a collection of material, unique within Europe, that is not only designed to serve the college community of students and staff, but also as a reference resource (by prior appointment) to those outside the institution undertaking research. It holds a stock of approximately 10,000 books, 100 current periodicals and a variety of multimedia resources. Any items not within the Library's stock can be requested through the Inter-Library Loan service. In addition to this the Library has a Document Delivery Licence which permits the supply of articles, from the Library's printed journal stock, to researchers and customers outside the college.
On induction, students are given an introduction to and brief tour of the Library and a printed guide to the Library and its services. Further instruction on how to use the Library and specialist electronic resources is given throughout the course to small seminar groups.
The student computing facility within the Library comprises 24 computers, printers and scanners. These can be used for accessing specialist resources via the Library Intranet, Microsoft Office applications, email and Internet access.
