Diploma in Dry Needling and Clinical Acupuncture
This programme is designed to educate and train registered healthcare professionals, including chiropractors, osteopaths and physiotherapists, in the safe and effective use of clinical acupuncture and dry needling. It is innovative in that the course covers a diverse range of needling techniques in the therapeutic management of a range of conditions.
The course adopts an evidence-based approach and focuses on musculoskeletal conditions but also includes some visceral conditions. The teaching team is multidisciplinary and includes a rheumatologist, a chiropractor and a physiotherapist. This is a comprehensive and flexible programme that will meet the needs of registered healthcare professionals wishing to add acupuncture to their range of therapeutic skills.
The course is modular and begins with an overview of traditional and Western medical acupuncture and an introduction to practical skills (Module 1). Thereafter, the seminars (Modules 2, 3 and 4) are organised using a regional approach that facilitates application to everyday clinical practice.
Delegates can either take the entire course of 4 modules (ending with the final assesment consisting of eight wriiten case studies to be submitted leading to the Diploma) or any module(s) as stand-alone. Whichever route is followed, delegates can be assured they will be able to incorporate the skills they learn on their return to clinical practice. Each module is organised as lectures and small group sessions, with an emphasis on supervised hands-on practical workshops.
To undertake the regional modules (2, 3 and 4) delegates must FIRST have attended Module 1. Thereafter, modules 2, 3 and 4 can be taken IN ANY ORDER. Please indicate your preferred dates on the Booking Form. To sit the final examinations, delegates must have taken ALL modules.
