Aurélie Marchand

Aurélie is a Senior Lecturer teaching on the pre-registration chiropractic framework and the post-graduate MSc Paediatric MSK Health course. She mentors postgraduate students in their dissertations.

Biography

Aurélie Marchand is a chiropractor who obtained a Master in Chiropractic from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in 2006, a Postgraduate Certificate in Chiropractic Practice in 2007, and a Master in Advanced Chiropractic Paediatric Practice at the AECC along with the Graham Heale Award in 2010. She is completed a Masters in Medical Education with the University of Dundee in 2021 and was awarded the Professor Ronal Harden award for best podium presentation of her dissertation. Prior to joining the AECC UC teaching staff she was in practice for ten years, was a teacher of Fascial Manipulation®, and taught several postgraduate chiropractic paediatric seminars.

Current Activity

Aurélie  teaches on the pre-registration chiropractic framework and the postgraduate MSc Paediatric MSK Health course, she mentors postgraduate students in their dissertations. On the pre-registration course, she is responsible for teaching pregnancy and paediatrics in Year 3. On the postgraduate course, she is responsible for the units Paediatric MSK examination and Paediatric MSK interventions.

Research

Research

Aurélie has several publications in two main fields: chiropractic paediatrics and Fascial Manipulation®. She developed the paediatric chiropractic model of care based on biomechanical properties of paediatric spinal tissues, conducted a survey of European chiropractors, reviewed the safety terminology in paediatric chiropractic care, and reported on infantile headaches. She co-authored several articles on Fascial Manipulation® including effectiveness on chronic aspecific low back pain, post-surgical care in total hip replacements, and persistent knee pain. She is also a reviewer for JMPT.
