The AECC organise a variety of events for local businesses, schools and members of the local community. If you might be interested in working with the college, please contact us. We offer educational sessions as well as sponsorship opportunities and community outreach projects, so would love to hear from you.
DASH BACK 2010
A major annual event organised by the AECC is the DASH BACK. A road race and fun run for amateur and professional runners to participate in whilst fundraising for the college and the clinic.
The date of the next AECC DASH BACK will be Sunday 7th November 2010. Full details and application forms will be avaliable soon.
DASH BACK 2009
Sunday 1st November 2009 saw the AECC host the fourth annual DASH BACK. However, unfortunately the weather was not what we had ordered; in fact it was pretty horrible! Despite the driving rains and gales, over 200 people still managed to pull themselves out of the warmth of their beds to run the race and support the college – and for that, we are very grateful!
By the time the 10km race started, much of the rain had subsided, but the gales were still pretty strong! We were very impressed by the dedication displayed by each and every participant!
This year’s race saw the addition of the DASH BACK Fest, where hot food was served, live music entertained the runners and supporters, cakes and hot drinks were on offer and people were able to shelter in the dry whilst waiting for the first runners to return! This element of the race was due to be outside, however due to the weather had to be moved inside at the last minute! We think it was a great addition to the race this year and hope to arrange something similar next year too.
Congratulations to our 10km race winners Jon Sharkey, Philip Mosley, Caerwyn Crow, Jenny Julian, Caroline Horder & Kim Tarpey. This year our 10km race winners were awarded cash prizes by Ellis Jones Solicitors, for which organisers are very grateful.
